A note to teachers...
Some of the current science websites designed to help teachers use technology are overwhelming. Selecting an interesting-looking link only leads to another link, and paging through blog after blog of detailed information about all of the new and exciting technology available can leave teachers asking the question, “Where do I start?!” Some websites provide detailed information about a variety of technology topics, but a less complicated and more organized website aligned with science curriculum would benefit teachers. The goal of this website is to guide teachers from a belief that “technology is overwhelming and I’d rather just teach biology the way I’ve always taught it,” to a new approach of “I can use technology in my classroom effectively to help all of my learners," by providing a less complicated and more organized website aligned with science curriculum.
The types of educational technology on this website were selected as resources for teachers who may not have used technology extensively in the classroom before. The technologies covered are ones that can be accessed for little or no cost and are simple for teachers and students to use. This is not an exhaustive list of everything available out there, but the specific lessons are designed to be simple ways that technology can be easily incorporated into the biology curriculum.
