Lessons...
These lessons were designed to give teachers more specific ideas on how to incorporate educational technology in the biology classroom. They feature some of the technology ideas mentioned in the overview pages as part of a complete lesson plan related to state biology standards. The lessons involve multiple learning modalities, methods of assessment including speaking and writing, and the development of scientific literacy skills such as understanding concepts and how they are related to the real world. Students will also be able to acquire 21st century digital literacy skills by using technology as a tool to research, organize, evaluate, and communicate information.
Each lesson page features:
- background information, student outcomes, standards, materials, and detailed lesson plan
- an explanation of the educational technology used
- screen shots of the educational technology used to make it easy for teachers to visually understand what the lesson will look like each step of the way
- downloadable supplementary materials such as worksheets or rubrics
- downloadable PDF file of the complete lesson plan with supplementary materials
